How Nokof DS works
Nokof DS is a mucolytic medication. It thins and loosens mucus (phlegm) in the nose, windpipe and lungs making it easier to cough out.
- Nokof DS helps in thinning and removal of the mucus (slimy and sticky substance) from the airways, thereby treats various respiratory conditions.
- Measure the syrup with a special dose-measuring spoon or cup, not a regular table spoon.
- Inform your doctor if you have suffered or are currently suffering from any stomach, liver or kidney problem.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
Indication
Bronchiectasis, Mucolytic, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD)
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Adult Dose
Oral As a mucolytic Adult: Initially, 750 mg tid, then 1.5 g daily in divided doses.
Child Dose
Oral As a mucolytic Child: 2-5 yr: 62.5-125 mg 4 times daily; 6-12 yr: 250 mg tid.
Contraindication
Active peptic ulceration.
