Risk Assessment

• Medications: Some medications (like fertility drugs) can interfere, though most don't affect results.

Normal Range

• Negative Result: Generally, an hCG level below 5 mIU/mL is considered not pregnant.
• Positive Result: Typically, an hCG level of 25 mIU/mL or more indicates pregnancy. However, urine tests are qualitative, so they indicate only "positive" or "negative," without exact values.

Interpretation

• Positive: Indicates pregnancy. However, for confirmation, a blood hCG test or ultrasound may be recommended, especially if done early.
