Eyecaf is an antihistaminic medication. It is used to treat inflammation of eyes (redness and swelling) caused due to various allergies. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the returning or worsening. Commonly seen side effects seen with this medicine include temporary eye irritation and burning sensation after administration. How to use Eyecaf

Indication

Prevention of itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis.

Adult Dose

Instill one drop in each eye once daily.

Contraindication

Alcaftadine eye drop is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to any component of this product.

Mode of Action

Alcaftadine is an H1, H2 & H4 histamine receptor antagonist and inhibitor of the release of histamine from mast cells.

Precaution

The drug should not be instilled while wearing contact lenses. If hypersensitivity reaction occurs after instillation patients should be advised to discontinue the use of Alcaftadine and consult with physicians. Lactation: Unknown whether distributed in breast milk, caution advised.
