Introduction
Adrinoxyl is used in the treatment of bleeding. It works by fastening the process of clot formation and by stopping the bleeding.
Adrinoxyl should be administered under the supervision of a healthcare professional. You will be watched carefully to make sure you do not have an allergic reaction. You should not take it if you have any known allergy from this injection.
The common side effects include injection site reactions such as pain, swelling or redness. Inform your doctor if you are suffering from any severe liver or kidney disease. It may cause injection site reactions like pain or redness.
If you miss a dose of this injection, take it as soon as possible. If it is time for your next dose, you can skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. You are not advised to double the dose.

How Adrinoxyl works
Adrinoxyl is an oxidative product of adrenaline (chemical messenger) that constricts the blood vessels to reduce the blood flow. This process stops bleeding and also promotes clot formation.
What if you forget to take Adrinoxyl?
If you miss a dose of Adrinoxyl, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Indication
Oral As a haemostatic
Adult: 10-30 mg tid.
Injection As a haemostatic Adult: 10 mg daily by SC/IM inj.
Alternatively, 25-100 mg daily by IV Inj or drip infusion.
Pre-operative: 2-6ml at suitable intervals.
Post-operative: 1-2ml every 2hrs.
Non-surgical: 2-4ml tid.
Administration
No specific drug interaction has been demonstrated.
Adult Dose
Because of the content of diprophylline (90 mg/ml), the dosage to premature babies, infants and young children should not exceed 0.3 ml.
Renal Dose
Carbazochrome is an oxidation product of adrenaline (epinephrine). It has been used as a haemostatic agent.
Contraindication
Child <6yrs: 1-2ml tid.
Precaution
Capillary bleeding, Haemoptysis, Haematuria, Retinal hemorrhage,Se condary hemorrhage, Menorrhagia.
Pregnancy Category Note
Allergic reactions may occur like dyspnoea, bronchospasm, skin reaction etc
Interaction
Should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity.
