Tufnil Vet 10ml IM/IV/SC Injection

DESCRIPTION
Tufnil® Vet is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory of the
fenamate family. Its action is antipyretic, analgesic and
anti-inflammatory.

COMPOSITION
Injection
Each mL of Tufnil® Vet contains Tolfenamic Acid BP 40 mg.
Bolus
Each Bolus of Tufnil® Vet contains Tolfenamic Acid BP
200 mg

MODE OF ACTION
Tufnil® Vet inhibits prostaglandin synthesis and also
inhibits the tissue response to prostaglandins.
Tolfenamic Acid follows an entero-hepatic cycle,
ensuring a long half life.

INDICATIONS AND USAGES
Tufnil® Vet can be used in following situations:
• Effective in the relief of pain and fever
• For the treatment of inflammatory disorders and
painful conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, gout,
bursitis etc.
• Supportive therapeutics in the treatment of
inflammatory disease accompanied by pain and high
fever; pneumonia, mastitis, metritis, muscular fatigue
and lameness etc.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Injection : A single injection of 1 mL / 20 Kg body weight
by IM/IV/SC. For IM/SC administer, If needed
repeat every 48 hours. For IV administer, If
needed repeat every 24 hours.
Bolus : 2 mg /Kg body weight once daily or,
 1 Bolus/100 Kg body weight once daily.
Or, as per direction of registered Veterinarian /
Consultant.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use in animals shows hypersensitivity to
Tolfenamic Acid.

PRECAUTIONS
Tolfenamic Acid should not be used in animals with
active GI bleeding or Ulceration. NSAIDs should be
avoided or very carefully monitored in animals with liver
or kidney disease.

SIDE EFFECTS
There are relatively few side effects assorted with
Tolfenamic Acid. The most common side effects are
vomiting & diarrhea.

DRUG INTERACTIONS
Avoid combining with other anti-inflammatory drugs that
trends to predispose animals towards GI ulcers, such as
corticosteroids and other NSAIDs.

USE IN PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Tufnil® Vet may be used during pregnancy & lactation.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD
Milk – 0 day; Meat – 12 days.

STORAGE CONDITION
Keep away from light and wet place. Keep out of reach
of children.

PRESENTATION
Tufnil® Vet IM/IV/SC Injection: Each carton contains
one vial of 10 mL or 30 mL Tufnil® Vet IM/IV/SC
Injection. Each mL contains Tolfenamic Acid BP 40 mg.
Tufnil® Vet Bolus : Box containing 3 or 5 strips of 4 Boli
each. Each bolus contains Tolfenamic Acid BP 200 mg.
