Introduction
Epinast is an antihistaminic medication. It is used to treat inflammation of eyes (redness and swelling) caused due to various allergies. It is used to relieve symptoms like watery, itchy, red, swollen eyes or eyelids due to allergic conjunctivitis.
Follow your doctor's instructions precisely for administering Epinast in the eye. It should be used regularly at evenly spaced time intervals as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the returning or worsening.
Commonly seen side effects seen with this medicine include temporary eye irritation and burning sensation after administration. Consult your doctor if these side effects persist or if your condition worsens. It may cause blurring of your vision for a short time just after its use, so not drive until your vision is clear.

How to use Epinast
This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off extra liquid.

Contraindication
Hypersensitivity.
Mode of Action
Epinastine is a selective H1-receptor antagonist. It blocks release of histamine from mast cells.
Precaution
Pregnancy, lactation. Contact lenses should be removed prior to use since the formulation may contain benzalkonium chloride. It may be re-inserted after 10 min.
Lactation: Excretion in milk unknown; use with caution
Side Effect
Headache; burning sensation, folliculosis, hyperaemia, pruritus; cough, pharyngitis, rhinitis, sinusitis.
