Genclovir is an antiviral medicine used to treat viral infections caused by cytomegalovirus in immunocompromised people who have undergone an organ or bone marrow transplantation. It also reduces the risk of blindness in a serious eye infection caused by CMV, known as CMV retinitis. Genclovir is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. How Genclovir works
Genclovir is an antiviral medication which treats viral infections of the eye. It works by preventing the multiplication of the virus on the surface of your eyeball (cornea). This stops the production of new viruses and clears up your eye infection.
What if you forget to take Genclovir?
If you miss a dose of Genclovir, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
