How to Use

Pen Preparation or Cartridge Changing

1. Remove the pen cap.
2. Remove the cartridge sleeve by turning it.
3. Remove the empty cartridge, if present.
4. Insert the new cartridge into the cartridge sleeve.
5. Push the threaded rod completely back.
6. Attach the cartridge sleeve to the pen housing by turning it securely.

 

Attaching the Pen Needle

1. Remove the peel foil from the pen needle.
2. Twist the pen needle onto the cartridge sleeve and check that it is correctly attached.
3. Remove the outer needle protective cap and keep it for safe needle removal after injection.
4. Remove and dispose of the inner needle protective cap.

 

Priming / Function Check

1. Dial a test dose by turning the dosage knob clockwise. Use not less than 2 units for the function check.
2. Hold the pen pointing upward and gently tap the cartridge sleeve to allow air bubbles to rise.
3. Press the push-button fully.
4. Check that a few drops of insulin emerge from the pen needle tip.

 

Injection

• Use the injection technique recommended by your physician or healthcare professional.
• Press the push-button fully during injection.
• Keep the push-button pressed while the insulin is being discharged.
• After the insulin has been completely discharged, wait 6 seconds before slowly removing the needle from the injection site.
• The push-button may be held down or released during these 6 seconds, as instructed.

 

Removing the Pen Needle

After every injection:

1. Carefully place the outer needle protective cap over the pen needle.
2. Twist off the pen needle.
3. Dispose of the used needle safely according to the instructions of your physician or healthcare professional.

Important: Do not reuse pen needles. Follow proper disposal instructions for used needles.
