Pharmacology

Naftol 50selectively blocks α1-adrenergic receptors, with a higher antagonistic effect on α1D receptors. This relaxes smooth muscle tension in the prostate and urethra, allowing urine to pass more easily. It also suppresses detrusor muscle overactivity.

Dosage and Administration of Naftol 50

  • Adults: Start with 25 mg once daily after meals.
  • If the response is insufficient, the dose may be gradually increased to 50–75 mg once daily at intervals of 1–2 weeks.
  • The dose may be adjusted according to age and symptoms.
  • Maximum dose: 75 mg once daily.
  • Renal impairment: Dosage adjustment is generally not required
  • Severe hepatic impairment: Dosage adjustment may be required
