Description:
Carflam Vet 500 mg is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) formulated for veterinary use, containing Carprofen 500 mg per bolus. It is designed to provide anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects in animals, helping manage pain, inflammation, and fever associated with musculoskeletal disorders, post-surgical recovery, and injuries.

Active Ingredient:

• Carprofen USP 500 mg per bolus

Pharmacology:
Carprofen selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), with greater selectivity toward COX-2, reducing prostaglandin synthesis associated with inflammation and pain. This makes it effective for postoperative pain, joint degeneration, and other inflammatory conditions in animals.

Indications:

• Management of pain and inflammation in cattle, goats, horses, pigs, dogs, and poultry

• Supportive therapy following musculoskeletal injuries or surgery

• Adjunct therapy with antibiotics for severe infections

Dosage & Administration:

Precautions & Warnings:

• Avoid use in animals sensitive to Carprofen

• Use with caution in young (<6 weeks) or elderly animals, or those dehydrated, hypotensive, or hypovolemic

• Do not combine with other NSAIDs or corticosteroids within 24 hours

Side Effects:

• Possible gastrointestinal ulceration, vomiting, anorexia, or diarrhea with prolonged use

• Rare: Unknown side effects

Pregnancy & Lactation:

• Safety in pregnant or lactating animals not established; use only if benefits outweigh risks

• Meat: 21 days
