Etragut 2 works by selectively binding to sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) receptors (mainly S1P1, S1P4, S1P5) on
the surface of lymphocytes. This action prevents the lymphocytes from migrating out of lymph nodes, and into the
bloodstream and other tissues. By trapping T and B cells in the lymph nodes, etrasimod reduces their overall
circulation and, consequently, limiting their ability to reach tissues and thereby reducing inflammation, particularly in
conditions like ulcerative colitis.
Indication and Uses
Moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis in adults.
Dosage and Administration
2 mg orally once daily, with or without food. If a dose is missed, take the next dose at the scheduled time. Do not
double the dose.
