Ad-din Pharmaceuticals Product List in Bangladesh
Ad-din Pharmaceuticals Ltd makes a broad general range — acid and stomach medicines above all, then asthma and allergy, antibiotics, painkillers, vitamins and a skin cream.
The sections below group the range by what each medicine treats and give the generic name beside the brand name, because the generic is what tells you whether two boxes hold the same drug. None of it replaces what your own prescription says.
Ad-din, Ad Din and Addin
The company prints its name with a hyphen. It is searched hyphenated, spaced and closed up, and occasionally as Adin. All of them find this range, and the grid above holds the whole of it regardless of which spelling you used.
Adding the words product list is what most people are actually after, and that is what this page is — the live list rather than a downloadable one, which means it does not go out of date between printings.
Stomach and Acid
This is the deepest part of the range, and the products in it are not interchangeable.
Which acid medicine is which
- Nixpan 20 tablet 20mg is pantoprazole, Somazole 20 capsule 20mg is esomeprazole and DRT 30 is dexlansoprazole — all proton pump inhibitors, which shut acid production down over a day or two.
- Famisus 50ml Syrup syrup 40mg/5ml is famotidine, a weaker and faster-acting class.
- Algifast 200ml Oral Suspension suspension 500mg+267mg+160mg/10ml and Duomeal are antacids, which neutralise acid already there and work within minutes.
An antacid is for now. A proton pump inhibitor is for a course. Taking the second and expecting the first is why people conclude it is not working on day one.
Long-term use is worth reviewing
Proton pump inhibitors are often started for a few weeks and then repeated for years without anybody revisiting the decision. Over long periods they are associated with lower vitamin B12 and magnesium, a higher risk of certain gut infections, and a small increase in fracture risk.
None of that means stopping one that has been prescribed. It means asking, at a routine appointment, whether you still need it and whether a lower dose would do.
What acid medicine should not be used to settle
Indigestion that is new in somebody over forty, or that comes with difficulty swallowing, vomiting, black or tarry stool, or weight loss nobody can explain, needs investigating rather than suppressing. Acid medicine works well enough on those symptoms to delay the diagnosis underneath them.
Nausea and Gut Movement
The gut-movement group covers three different jobs:
- Emigut 8 — ondansetron, for nausea and vomiting
- Gutset 10 tablet 10mg — domperidone, which also speeds the stomach up
- Tium 50 tablet 50mg — tiemonium, an antispasmodic for cramping
Domperidone is a short course
Domperidone is used for nausea and vomiting at the lowest dose that works, usually for no more than about a week, because of an effect on heart rhythm. It is not suitable for everyone with existing heart disease and interacts with several other medicines, which is why it is prescription-controlled rather than a cupboard staple.
Asthma, and What to Know About Montelukast
Airflow 10 tablet 10mg is montelukast, taken daily to prevent asthma symptoms rather than to relieve them. Tink 100ml is ketotifen, used the same preventive way.
Mood and behaviour changes
Montelukast carries a serious warning that many people taking it have never been told about. It can cause changes in mood and behaviour — agitation, aggression, disturbed sleep, vivid dreams, depression, and in rare cases thoughts of self-harm. Children are affected as well as adults.
If somebody starts this and becomes unlike themselves, that is a reason to ring the prescriber rather than to wait and see. It is reversible on stopping, and there are alternatives. Separately: neither of these opens an airway during an attack — the reliever inhaler does that, and it needs to stay with you.
Antihistamines, Drowsy and Not
Four antihistamines sit in the range and the practical difference between them is sleepiness:
- Xofast 120 tablet 120mg is fexofenadine, among the least sedating
- Aladin 10 tablet 10mg is rupatadine, also a newer non-sedating one
- Cirizin 10 tablet 10mg is cetirizine, which makes a minority noticeably drowsy
- Alerjess Tablet 4mg is chlorpheniramine, an older one that reliably causes drowsiness
Do not drive or handle machinery until you know how one affects you, and be careful about combining any of them with alcohol. The older kind is a poor choice for an older person, in whom it also causes confusion and urinary difficulty.
Antibiotics
The anti-infective side covers two beta-lactams and a macrolide:
- Adrox CV 500/125 — cefuroxime with clavulanic acid
- Co-Clav 625 — amoxicillin with clavulanic acid
- Vinzam 35ml — azithromycin
Finish the course, and know what these do not treat
Take the full course even once you feel better, and never keep leftovers for next time. An antibiotic does nothing at all for a cold, flu, or most sore throats and coughs, which are viral.
Tell the prescriber about any previous reaction to penicillin before starting either beta-lactam. Diarrhoea during or after a course that is severe, watery or bloody should be reported rather than treated at home.
Pain and Fever
Feva 500 tablet 500mg is paracetamol. Lacor 10 tablet 10mg is ketorolac, and the two could hardly be more different in how carefully they need handling.
Counting paracetamol across everything you take
Paracetamol hides in cold remedies and combination tablets, and the total across a day is what matters. Going over the limit damages the liver in a way that produces almost no symptoms until it is advanced, which is what makes it dangerous rather than merely unpleasant.
Ketorolac is a short-course drug
Ketorolac is a strong anti-inflammatory intended for short-term use measured in days, not weeks. It carries a meaningfully higher risk of stomach bleeding and kidney injury than the everyday painkillers, particularly in older people and in anyone dehydrated.
Do not take it alongside another anti-inflammatory, do not take it with a history of stomach ulcer or kidney disease without medical advice, and stop it at any black stool, vomiting of blood or severe stomach pain.
Chest and Skin
Mucoxin 100ml is bromhexine, a mucolytic that thins sputum rather than suppressing a cough. A cough lasting beyond three weeks, or one bringing up blood, with weight loss or night sweats, needs investigating rather than thinning.
A steroid with an antifungal is not a long-term cream
Conatrim 10g combines an antifungal with a topical steroid. The steroid settles the itch and redness quickly, which is exactly why this kind of cream gets over-used.
Used for weeks, the steroid thins the skin and can let a fungal infection spread while masking how it looks, so that the rash becomes harder to recognise and harder to treat. Use it for the short period prescribed, not on the face unless a doctor says so, and go back if the rash is not clearing.
Vitamins and Minerals
- Combomin tablet — vitamins B1, B6 and B12
- Ribomin Tablet 5mg — riboflavin, vitamin B2
- Folate 5 tablet 5mg — folic acid
- J-Zinc 100ml Syrup syrup 10mg/5ml — zinc sulphate
Zinc for a child with diarrhoea
Zinc alongside oral rehydration solution is standard treatment for childhood diarrhoea, and it shortens the episode and reduces the chance of another in the months after. The rehydration solution is the part that prevents harm; the zinc is the part that shortens it. Both, not one.
Folic acid, pregnancy and a caution
Folic acid before conception and through early pregnancy substantially reduces the risk of neural tube defects, which is why it is started before a pregnancy is confirmed rather than after.
One caution: folic acid can correct the blood picture of vitamin B12 deficiency while the nerve damage continues underneath. Anyone with unexplained tiredness, numbness or pins and needles should have B12 checked rather than simply taking folate. Long-term high-dose B6 can itself cause nerve symptoms, so a B-complex is not something to take indefinitely without a reason.
Diabetes
D-Met 500 is metformin, usually the first tablet prescribed in type 2 diabetes. Take it with or straight after food; loose stool and a metallic taste are common early on and usually settle.
Long-term metformin lowers vitamin B12 absorption in a meaningful number of people, which connects it to the B-complex above. That is checked with a blood test rather than guessed at.
Where Ad-din Sits on Arogga
The range spreads across the therapeutic shelves, so the quickest route to a particular box is usually its class:
- The acid and stomach medicines sit under Gastrointestinal System, with the strongest of them under PPI.
- The antibiotics sit under Antimicrobial and Anti-Bacterial.
- The asthma tablets sit under Respiratory System, within Leukotriene Receptor Antagonists.
- The antihistamines sit under Allergic Disorders, the antiemetic under Anti-Emetic, and the vitamins under Vitamin, Mineral & Nutritional Deficiency.
About Ad-din Pharmaceuticals
Ad-din Pharmaceuticals Ltd is a Bangladeshi manufacturer with a general portfolio rather than a specialist one. Its weight sits in gastrointestinal medicine, with respiratory, allergy, anti-infective, analgesic and nutritional lines around it.
Each listing carries its own pack size, strength, prescription status and stock position, all of which move. The grid above this text is the live list of what Arogga holds from this manufacturer, which is why it does not need a printed version.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is there a downloadable Ad-din product list?
The grid above this text is the list, and it updates itself as items go in and out of stock. A printed or PDF list goes out of date between printings, which is the usual reason a search for one turns up something two years old.
2. What is the difference between an antacid and a PPI?
An antacid neutralises acid that is already there and works within minutes. A proton pump inhibitor stops acid being made and takes a day or two to reach full effect. One is for now, the other is for a course — expecting the second to behave like the first is why people think it has failed.
3. Is it alright to stay on an acid tablet for years?
Worth reviewing rather than assuming. Long-term use is linked to lower B12 and magnesium, certain gut infections and a small rise in fracture risk. Do not stop a prescribed one on your own — ask at a routine appointment whether you still need it or whether less would do.
4. Can montelukast affect mood?
Yes, and it is the warning most people on it have not heard. Agitation, aggression, disturbed sleep, vivid dreams, low mood and rarely thoughts of self-harm are all recognised, in children as well as adults. If someone becomes unlike themselves after starting it, ring the prescriber.
5. Which antihistamine will not make me sleepy?
Fexofenadine is among the least sedating, and rupatadine is also a newer non-sedating one. Cetirizine makes a minority drowsy. Chlorpheniramine reliably does, and is a poor choice for an older person because it also causes confusion.
6. How long can I take Lacor?
Days rather than weeks, and only as prescribed. Ketorolac carries a higher risk of stomach bleeding and kidney injury than everyday painkillers. Never take it with another anti-inflammatory, and stop at any black stool, vomiting of blood or severe stomach pain.
7. Should I give zinc to a child with diarrhoea?
Zinc alongside oral rehydration solution is standard treatment and shortens the episode. The rehydration solution is the part that prevents harm, so it is both rather than either. Blood in the stool, a high fever, or a child passing little urine needs a doctor.
8. How do I know two boxes hold the same medicine?
The generic name and the strength are what to compare; the brand name is not. Different manufacturers give the same drug different brand names, and the smaller line on the pack is what tells you whether they match.
