Normal: Not Detected (Negative).
Abnormal: Detected (Positive for CMV DNA).

Interpretation

Positive result: CMV DNA detected → indicates active CMV infection.
Negative result: CMV DNA not detected → no active infection (but past infection cannot be excluded).
Qualitative test: Only tells presence or absence of virus, not viral load.
