Indications

Resmirom 80 is indicated, in conjunction with diet and exercise, for the treatment of adults with noncirrhotic nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH/MASH) with moderate to advanced liver fibrosis (F2–F3).

Pharmacology

Resmirom 80 is a partial agonist of thyroid hormone receptor-beta (THR-β), which is predominantly expressed in the liver. Activation of THR-β helps regulate liver metabolism and reduces intrahepatic triglycerides, supporting the management of NASH/MASH with liver fibrosis.

Dosage and Administration of Resmirom 80

The recommended dose is based on actual body weight:

  • Patients weighing less than 100 kg: 80 mg orally once daily.
  • Patients weighing 100 kg or more: 100 mg orally once daily.

Pediatric Use

The safety and effectiveness of Resmetirom have not been established in pediatric patients.

Renal Impairment

Resmirom 80 should be avoided in patients with decompensated cirrhosis or moderate to severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh Class B or C). No dose adjustment is recommended for mild hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh Class A).
