Overview

CA 125: CA 125 is a tumor marker primarily used in the management of ovarian cancer. It helps monitor treatment response, detect recurrence, and assess disease progression.

CA 15-3: CA 15-3 is a tumor marker commonly associated with breast cancer. It is used to monitor treatment effectiveness and detect cancer recurrence.

CA 19-9: CA 19-9 is a tumor marker mainly used in pancreatic and biliary tract cancers. It helps evaluate treatment response and monitor disease progression.

Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA): CEA is a tumor marker commonly used in colorectal cancer. It helps monitor treatment response and detect recurrence, and may be elevated in other cancers.

Alpha-Fetoprotein (AFP): AFP is a protein produced by the fetal liver. It is used as a tumor marker for liver cancer and certain germ cell tumors, helping in diagnosis and treatment monitoring.

Risk Assessment

CA 125: Elevated levels may indicate ovarian cancer, but can also be seen in benign gynecological conditions.

CA 15-3: High levels may suggest breast cancer progression or recurrence, though non-cancerous conditions can also cause elevation.

CA 19-9: Increased levels may be associated with pancreatic or biliary tract cancers and certain gastrointestinal disorders.

CEA: High CEA levels may be linked to colorectal and other cancers, but can also occur in smokers and benign conditions.

AFP: Elevated AFP levels may indicate liver cancer, germ cell tumors, or certain chronic liver diseases.
