This condition is known as hypopituitarism and usually does not require any treatment. Certain medicines cause low prolactin levels like: Dopamine (prescribed for people in shock) Levodopa (prescribed for Parkinson’s disease) Ergot alkaloid derivatives (prescribed for severe headaches)
