Normal Range:

• Negative result: No Mycobacterium tuberculosis DNA detected.

Positive for MTB: This indicates the presence of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex DNA in the urine sample. It suggests active TB infection, but further clinical evaluation is needed to confirm the diagnosis and determine the extent of the infection.

Negative for MTB: This suggests that Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex DNA was not detected in the urine sample. However, a negative result does not completely rule out TB, especially in cases of extra-pulmonary TB where bacterial load may be lower. Additional tests or clinical evaluation may be necessary, particularly if clinical suspicion remains high.

Indeterminate or Error: In some cases, the test result may be indeterminate or flagged as an error due to various reasons such as sample contamination, inadequate sample volume, or technical issues. In such cases, repeat testing or alternative diagnostic methods may be required.
