Ultibac vet injection: Each mL contains Marbofloxacin BP 100 mg.

Ultibac Vet Bolus: Each bolus contains Marbofloxacin BP 50 mg.

Description

Ultibac vet is a 3rd generation Fluoroquinolone antibiotic with broad spectrum bactericidal activity against gram positive and gram negative Bacteria and Mycoplasma. It acts by inhibition of bacterial DNA-gyrase enzyme. It is dedicated only for veterinary use.

Indications

Ultibac Vet is indicated for the treatment of following diseases caused by Bacteria and mycoplasma:.

• Acute mastitis

• Diarrhea and gastro-enteritis

• Severe respiratory infection

• Neonatal gastroenteritis caused by E. coli.

Dosage & Administration

Ultibac vet Injection
• Treatment of Respiratory Infections
• Single Dose: 4 ml/50 kg body weight (8 mg/kg body weight) through the IM route.
• Multiple Dose: 1 ml/50 kg body weight (2 mg/kg body weight) through IM/SC route for 3-5 days. If the volume to be injected is more than 20 ml, it should be divided between two or more injection sites.
• Treatment of Acute Mastitis
•1 ml/50 kg body weight (2 mg/kg body weight) through IM/SC route for 3 days. The first injection can also be carried out by IV administration.
Ultibac vet Bolus
• The recommended dose is 1 mg/kg/day for 3 consecutive days or 2 boli is for 100 kg body weight/day.
• Calves: 1 bolus/50 kg body weight for 3-5 consecutive days.
• Dogs and cats: 1 bolus/18 kg body weight (2.75 mg/kg body weight) for 3-5 consecutive days.

Or as Directed by the registered Veterinarian.

Side Effects

Sometimes greenish colored feces at the end of treatment may be reported.

Precautions

Do not use in animals with CNS (central nervous system) disorders, such as epilepsy as it may cause seizures.

Use in Pregnancy & Lactation

Sufficient information is not available. Marbofloxacin should be used cautiously in pregnancy and lactation.

Withdrawal Period

Meat- 6 days
Milk- 36 hours.

Storage

Do not store above 30°C, avoid freezing. Keep away from light and out of the reach of children.
