Fusid®-Vet Bolus
Furosemide BP 2g 

Composition
Each bolus contains Furosemide BP 2 g.
Pharmacology
Furosemide enhances urine production by decreasing the
efficiency of the sodium reabsorption process, resulting in
increased water elimination from the body.
Indications
Indicated for the treatment of ascites, udder edema, pulmonary
congestion, renal failure, acute non-inflammatory tissue edema
etc. It also aids in the excretion of toxins or drug overdose by
promoting increased urine flow.
Dosage & administration
Route of administration: For oral administration only.
Cattle : 1 bolus/ animal once daily.
Dog : 2-4 mg/kg body weight once to three times daily.
Cat : 1-2 mg/kg body weight once or twice daily.
Poultry : 0.5-1 mg/kg body weight.
The bolus may be administered orally directly or through mixing
with required amount of feed/water by grinding the bolus.
Or as directed by the Veterinary Physicians.
Contraindication
Contraindicated to animal hypersensitivity to furosemide.
Side effects
Common side effects: Increased urination alkalosis, uric acid
retention and may rarely produce acute gout, hyperglycemia &
glycosuria.
Withdrawal time
Meat & Milk: 2 days, Egg: Not known
Use in pregnancy & lactation
Can be used in Pregnancy and lactating animals. However, risk
& necessity should be considered during administration in
pregnant & lactating animal.
Storage
Keep away from light and wet place, store below 300 C
temperature.
Packing
Each box contains 5x4’s Bolus in blister strip.
